In 2006 he founded the digital arts collective STUDIO. POC. He is the chairman and coordinator of MAXlab (Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp) and is affiliated with the Immersive Lab of the AP University College. He annually organizes the summer school ‘Storytelling in Virtual Reality. An Immersive Encounter’. Belgian flutist and Doctor of Musical Arts, Ine Vanoeveren, is specialized in contemporary music performance. She performed at numerous contemporary music festivals worldwide and won several international awards and prizes. In addition to performing, Ine is an assistant professor in contemporary music at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and coordinator of CREATIE (Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp). Workshop: The virtual meantime #23 Aleksandra Sviridova, Ann Dooms & Jouke Verlinden Ann Dooms (Doctor of Mathematics, 2004) is a professor at the Department of Mathematics and Data Science at the VUB where she leads the Digital Mathematics (DIMA) research group. The group works on the mathematical foundations for digital data science, where Ann specializes in digital forensics and security. Among other things, she has years of expertise in image processing for digital painting and document analysis, with applications in the cultural heritage sector and industry. She was elected a member of the Young Academy and the IEEE Technical Committee in Information Forensics and Security. Ann won several prizes in science communication and has a monthly column in EOS Science and De Tijd. She is co-founder and director of the “Platform Wiskunde Vlaanderen” which aims to promote mathematics in education, research, media and industry. Aleksandra Sviridova studied engineering and industrial design in Moscow and then completed a Master’s degree in Design in Dessau. Since September 2020 she started PhD research into the phenomenon of “Demonstrators” as a communicative phenomenon in product design. She also gives lectures in the field of parametric and generative design (specifically: grasshopper) in collaboration with Jouke Verlinden, who is professor at the Product Development department and explores the technique of Augmented Reality and digital fabrication (3D printing, robotics) for the improving (or better: “augmenting”!) human-centered design. He spent 7 years in the industry as an interaction designer and project manager before being active in academia as a researcher, and recently also as part of the Dean’s office.
