48 Saint Prevention KEYWORDS: Preventive conservation; preservation; religious cultural heritage. With the aim of instructing non-specialised people in the preservation of religious cultural heritage, a poster was designed and a fictional character, named Saint Prevention, was created. Saint Prevention, is a fictitious sculpture of a female Saint, that suffered various problems associated with failures in its perseveration. This lack of attention led to the degradation of its structure, to losses in the polychromy, biological colonisation and loss of volumes, among others. In order to prevent the same thing from happening to other religious objects, Saint Prevention has decided to present practical solutions in the form of a poster. Information regarding the identification of art works, acclimatisation, arrangement of objects in space, cleaning, or the survey of possible threats, appear in various bibliographies related to the preservation of cultural heritage. However, non-specialised people show no interest in resorting to this information, usually in book format, and do not acquire more knowledge on this subject. The intention of this poster is to instruct, in a lively and appealing way, all the coordinators and caregivers of places of worship, who have little knowledge about methods of preservation of religious objects. In this way it is possible to ensure that the objects integrity is not put in question and that their life span is prolonged. This poster, directly associated with religious buildings and its objects, should be located in a room attached to the worship area, such as sacristy or pantries. In this way, it is possible to ensure that the people who deal with the cleaning and organisation of the building have an easy vision and access to the information and that, consequently, have a preventive action towards religious objects. dannyreis27[at]gmail.com
